Prof. Zhiru Zhang elevated to IEEE Fellow

Prof. Zhiru Zhang joins the newly elevated class of 2023 of IEEE Fellows for his contributions to FPGA high-level synthesis and machine learning accelerators.

Since co-founding AutoESL (now Vivado HLS) back in 2006, Prof. Zhang continues to pave the way in design automation of accelerators for heterogeneous computing platforms. IEEE Fellow membership is reserved for those with distinguished contributions to their respective fields, and less than 0.1% of members are nominated each year. This comes after Prof. Zhang also received the Michael Tien ‘72 Excellence in Teaching Award in September.
